At the upcoming Hannover exhibition, the Merlo Group will unveil a micro telescopic handler called “HyperCompact,” designed to meet the handling needs of operators working in confined spaces. For now, it’s still a concept, but once it enters production, it will become a unique machine in its class

From large industrial telehandlers to compact agricultural models, Merlo’s current lineup includes around 50 models, offering lifting capacities from 2.5 to 12 tons, working heights between 5 and 28 meters, and engine outputs from 75 to 170 horsepower. These three broad performance ranges already include several exclusive solutions, such as the fully electric “eWorker 25.5” telehandler.
It’s hard to imagine a farm or contractor unable to find within the Merlo range a machine suited to its operational needs—especially considering the high degree of customization available. Customers can, for example, choose between different transmission configurations, ranging from traditional hydrostatic systems to the latest continuous transmissions; opt for suspended cabs instead of those mounted on silent blocks; select boom options that are either damped or side-shifting; and even request stabilizable chassis or full-electric powertrains instead of conventional combustion engines.
Since some of these options (such as suspended cabs or transmission types) effectively create standalone variants, Merlo’s overall offering actually exceeds one hundred models. Yet, the company from Cuneo, Italy, does not consider this sufficient and is actively working to expand its product portfolio even further.
Proof of this commitment comes with the upcoming presentation of the “HyperCompact”, a concept that—once in production—will extend Merlo’s range downward, introducing an ultra-compact telehandler capable of lifting up to 1.5 tons and reaching a height of 5 meters.

Exceptionally nimble thanks to its compact dimensions, short wheelbase, and four-wheel steering system, the HyperCompact targets businesses operating in restricted environments—such as poultry and pig farms, stables, or nurseries—where high-performance machines are less essential than agile, maneuverable equipment capable of working in tight spaces that even compact telehandlers cannot access.
Another major advantage of the HyperCompact is its road transportability on trucks or light trailers, along with its ability to use most Merlo attachments, ensuring versatility for a wide range of applications.
As with all Merlo machines, operators can expect high comfort levels in the cab and top-tier safety standards, guaranteed by the most advanced digital solutions. Among these is another upcoming Merlo innovation for 2026: the “Pedestrian Detection” system, based on intelligent cameras capable of detecting people around the machine and automatically intervening to prevent accidents.
Complete Restyling for the “Turbofarmer” Series

The Merlo “Turbofarmer” telehandlers represent the core of Merlo’s agricultural range, particularly the medium-capacity lineup, which offers lifting capacities from 3.3 to 4.2 tons, working heights between 7 and 10 meters, and engine outputs from 136 to 145 horsepower, provided by reliable four-cylinder turbo diesel engines.
At the fair, the series will be represented by two models—with 3.8- and 4.2-ton capacities—that will debut Merlo’s new design, set to refresh the entire range’s appearance starting mid-next year.
This upgrade goes beyond aesthetics: alongside the new fender design, Merlo introduces a revised cab insulation system, easier cab access, and improved visibility. The boom has also been redesigned to enhance overall performance and efficiency.
